Adopted 20 May 1975. The green stands for
the luxuriant vegetation of the south, and also represents hope for a
rich, prosperous, hard-working and unified Cameroon. The red is a symbol
of sovereignty and of unity between the north and the south. The yellow
represents the soil of the north, wealth and the sun. The star
symbolizes unity.
