The World Flag is used in Canada and in every Member Country of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS). The flag is blue with the World Trefoil at the upper left. The design has meaning. The gold on the blue background represents the sun shining over the children of the world; the flowing line encircling the Trefoil stands for the worldwide Movement. The base of the Trefoil stalk symbolizes the flame of the love for humanity; the vein pointing upwards through the centre of the Trefoil represents a compass needle, pointing the way. The two stars stand for the Promise and the Law; the blaze of white in the lower right corner is for commitment to world peace and the three leaves and gold squares represent a three-fold Promise.
